I am trying to figure out a way to receive an e-mail or SMS notification whenever one of my operant chamber sessions end. I suppose one possibility is to connect an output to an external DAQ that can be configured to send an email when the input voltage changes (e.g., http://www.controlbyweb.com/five-input/), but this seems like an overly complicated solution given that MED-PC is already running on a networked computer. Is there a Medstate Notation command, or macro, that could somehow trigger an email to be sent from the computer running MED-PC when the session ends?

There are no MedState Notation or Macro commands that are designed to send an email.  Your best bet is to write a function in the User.pas or maybe the Backproc.pas that can send the email.

Thanks for the quick reply Gary. I am not familiar with programming in pascal, but I will look into it.
