Hi! I’m wondering if anyone can help with coding. I’ve worked with autoshaping, FR, and PR codes but am completely stuck for my next experiment (Pavlovian instrumental transfer) with two different codes.
This is one of the codes I’m stuck on: For the first part, rats learn that a cue (right light) is associated with sugar pellet delivery (no levers are available). The rats are in the chamber for an hour and the right light comes on for 2min and delivers 5 sugar pellets immediately. The light & cue presentation occurs at random time intervals (inter-trial interval was 2–3 min). The light cue & pellet delivery occurs 9 times per session.
The other code I’m stuck on is the transfer test. The right light will be presented randomly four (4) times for 2 min in a single 36-min session, and the intertrial interval ranges from 4–10 min. Responding on both levers is recorded throughout the entire session but neither lever are reinforced with sugar pellets (extinction). I also need to know how many lever presses occurred in the 2 minutes prior to the light presentation (pre-CS) compared to presses during the light presentation.
